Soccer Happens To Be a Rewarding Kids Sport
Normally every child will have access to physical activities such as sports at school but it is vital for their development in order for them to grow healthily and live happily.
Endorphins are the key to happiness and exercise is the key to releasing those endorphins.
As children grow, it is essential for them to have a means of letting out some of their energy, and we all know how much energy a child can contain. They will inevitably choose a favourite sport for themselves but there is no harm in helping them out when they are young and a great one to encourage them into is soccer.
Kids love to play soccer and it has a whole host of benefits for the child physically and mentally, which I intend to cover a little in this article.
First of all, the sport will actively build hand eye coordination in your child. Good balance skills will be built as your children dribble the ball and they’ll learn how to depend on their legs to maneuver them quickly in different directions. Since no hands are allowed to be used, this builds an even stronger sense of balance.
Leg strength is another obvious benefit. Through running around and kicking a ball across the field, their leg strength will build very quickly relative to other sports, not to mention the fact that the constant moving around the field does the same.
Playing soccer as with any team sport will promote your child’s ability to interact socially. They will learn skills such as cooperation and leadership that will carry over into other areas of their lives and make them better at their jobs or at fitting in with new crowds.
In my choice, I would always pick soccer as the game for my kids. It is such an all round sport in that it has many different benefits plus it’s a fun game in itself and one your children are certain to enjoy.

The Thierry Henry Hand Ball Saga
Thierry Henry is a free man. Many fans believe Thierry Henry deserved to be penalized for his hand ball that secured a spot for France in the World Cup and sent Ireland home ending their dreams of playing in South Africa.
As much as I wanted to see the luck of the Irish pull through, I have to agree with this decision. There are several comparisons I’ve been discussing that make it clear for me.
Let’s take Michael Jordan – If MJ traveled in a championship game and then went on to hit the game winner, would there ever be discussion of a penalty/fine for him? Absolutely not! That’s what the referees are for and their job is to make the call. Maybe MJ knew he was walking, but that’s not his fault.
According to FIFA’s rules, they couldn’t find anything that would give them a legal right to fine Henry. Basically, they agreed that a hand ball is NOT worthy of any sort of fine. The refs should face a fine before Henry should – it’s their job to make the calls.
If FIFA were able to find a reason to punish Henry, it could have kept him on the sidelines during the World Cup this summer. This would have been a terrible decision. Nobody wants to see the best soccer tournament in the World with a legend on the side line (well, unless you’re playing France!).
Playing college ball in the States, I’ve been part of some terrible calls. Some were in our favor and some against us. We never blamed the player – we would go straight to the ref and let him know what he missed! I understand the refs are human and they’ll miss some calls!
Ireland put in a request to FIFA to replay this match, but I knew this wouldn’t happen. They can’t turn the call over at this point, so that means that can’t find a reason to replay the game. Some people would like to see FIFA develop a review system, but that could really ruin the flow of a game. There are other options, like the addition of a ref on the end-lines which I think is a better solution.
Anyone who has ever played soccer has tried some sneaky things in a game before. Some may argue it’s bad sportsmanship, but some will say it’s part of the game. I can’t say what Henry did was wrong since its part of the game. I think its unfair, but unfortunately that’s part of the game!

Finding the Right Pair of Soccer Goalie Gloves
I’ve played soccer for many years and have been a soccer goalie for most of those playing years. As a goalie, I didn’t just love the game, but I loved the gear that came along with playing goalie. I would watch professional soccer as much as possible and always check out the latest trends of the best goalies in the World. I’d save up as much as possible to get the newest soccer goalie jersey or soccer goalie gloves. In this article, I’ll discuss some different options available for soccer goalies today and share some of the best goalie gloves on the market.
The first thing you should do is determine the purpose of the gloves. Do you want them for training purposes, for bad weather, for games only or do you need some sort of extra protection? Also figure out your budget and I always recommend figuring out your size if you can find a local soccer shop not too far away.
After all the years of playing goalie, I’ve realized my favorite brand for goalie gear is Uhlsport. I haven’t used them for anything else besides gloves, but their gloves are all superb. Their top of the line glove is the Uhlsport Cerberus Bionik Goalkeeper Glove and it’s meant for match play only.
This goalie glove made by Uhlsport is one of the most durable gloves made. It’s made with a patented grip foam which is soft and thick. The design is very similar to the human hand, which allows for great support by the spines placed in each finger. These gloves are on the expensive side and can be purchased for $169.99 at soccer.com.
Reusch is another brand that specializes specifically in goalie gear and they do a very good job at it. Their top glove is called Reusch Raptor R1 Ortho-Tec Glove and it’s a bit more affordable than the previous option. They’re made with extra thick foam and some soft latex on the backhand which makes them extremely comfortable. These goalie gloves are great on indoor surfaces and hard outdoor grounds and also provide great protection around the fingers.
These Reusch gloves are priced at $99.00 on soccer.com. They’re also great for match play and high level practice sessions. If this is in your budget, this is one of the best overall gloves you’ll find. I’ve had very good luck with them and the reviews are always great.
As you get under $100 for goalie gloves, there will definitely be a few noticeable differences. The overall support quality decreases, so the cushion and foam won’t be as thick. Since they’re not as thick, they won’t last as long. You may also lose the support in the fingers, with spine protectors behind each finger. So I always recommend spend a little extra on a great pair of game gloves!
Hopefully this article has helped you in your search for a new pair of goalie gloves. It’s always more enjoyable when you’re playing in style! Good luck goalies!
